Who we are:

We are a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds and organise events to help provide extra equipment and facilities to the children at the school. We also provide funding and support for special activities within the school, such as Circus Skills Week and Arts Week.

The FSIS is overseen by a committee consisting of five elected officers - Chair, Vice-Chair, Communication Secretary, Publicity & Marketing Secretary and Treasurer. All parents, guardians and extended family members of children in the school are automatically members of the FSIS and any member can join the committee or attend meetings at any time.

      Chair: Sarah Dann
"I'm a 40 something (ahem!) Mum of three. I have a son at college, and my younger sons are in Year one and Reception at Solent Infants. I work for an underwriter and also run another charity helping children with Cystic Fibrosis. I'm thoroughly enjoying my new role and have met some lovely new people.
My eyes have been opened to how much the FSIS actually does
  Vice Chair: Lisa Felstead
I'm a Mum of three, my daughters both attend Solent Infants and are in Year 2, and I have a two and half year old son. I'm currently completing a PhD which will hopefully lead to a career change into the education sector, and I also continue to work part time in the Accountancy field. I was inspired to join the committee by how hard the FSIS work to lay on fabulous events for the children at the school. I hope that we can continue this fantastic work and look forward to meeting lots of new people.
      Treasurer : Lucy Goodale
Hi, I'm a Mum of three, two hectic boys who are 6 years and 4 Years and a 1 year old Girl. I am an Accountant and enjoy supporting the school and meeting new friends as part of the FSIS. I enjoy fitness training, reading and movies
Publicity & Marketing : Joanna Radbourne
I'm Joanna and I have three girls who attend the Solent Schools, two are at the Infants in Reception and Year 2, and one at the Juniors in Year 3. I teach swimming to babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers at the Pyramids Centre in Southsea, which is why you may spot me running in the playground in the morning as I start at 9.30am! If you see me in the playground and would like a chat, please feel to pop over.
Publicity & Marketing : Louise Slade
I'm Louise, I have three children who currently attend the Solent Schools, two are in Year 1 at the Infants and one is in Year 3 at the Juniors. I am local Pilates Instructor and teach a dance fitness class, 'Bouncefit', to adults and children also. I volunteer in the school once a week and have been involved with the FSIS for the last three years and now am a committee member. Please come and say 'Hi' if you see me in the playground.
      Communication Secretary: Jessica Walker
"Hello my name is Jess and I'm a mum of two. My son attends Solent Juniors and is in Year 3 and my daughter is in Reception at Solent Infants. I am looking forward to my role, helping the FSIS continue its amazing support that it gives to the school, children and families.

The committee meets on the first Friday of each month at 1.30pm in the Lighthouse Room at the school - if the Lighthouse Room is unavailable then we reassemble at the 'Drayton Coffee House'. All our meetings are informal and we would love for you to come along and get involved - we are particularly keen to hear new ideas for fundraising activities, and experiences we could support for the children in the school. As well as our monthly committee meetings, we also hold event planning meetings throughout the year - details of these can be found on our face book page, on our current posters, or we can send you details via email if you contact us using the tab at the top of the page.

What do we do:

We hold many fundraising events throughout the year, including a Christmas, Easter and Summer Fayre, Quiz Nights and a 'Easter Egg' and 'Advent' drawing competition which are sponsored by Northwood Estate Agents, who also give us generous raffle donations throughout the year. We also sell uniforms and jute bags to raise money for the school.
Over the years we have purchased many items for the school to enhance our children's learning environment - these include the sunshade, rainbow benches, wicker huts and Reception playhouse and our largest donation was towards the fantastic Adventure Playground.
